Dear Customer,
Thank you for considering TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD for your electrical, solar and renewable energy needs.
To ensure complete transparency and a professional relationship, please find below our standard Terms & Conditions of service.
These outline both our responsibilities and your obligations as a client. By instructing us to proceed with any work, you agree to these terms.
1. Quotations & Revisions
We provide free quotations, allowing up to two revisions at no charge. Repeated alterations may incur a small admin fee. Quotations are valid for 30 days.
2. Scope of Work
All work will be carried out strictly in accordance with the accepted quotation. Any additional tasks or changes requested after commencement will be subject to a revised price.
All installations will be undertaken in compliance with the current edition of BS 7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations), as well as MCS MIS 001 and PAS 2030 standards where applicable.
3. Making Good / Reinstatement
TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD does not include “making good” services in its scope of works unless explicitly stated in writing.
This means we are not responsible for repairing or redecorating walls, ceilings, floors, plaster, tiles, paintwork, flooring, or finishes that may be affected during the installation of cables, chases, backboxes, accessories, or any aspect of the electrical installation.
Any such reinstatement or finishing work will need to be carried out by a separate plasterer, decorator, or relevant tradesperson, and is not included within our quotation.
4. Waste Removal
Unless stated otherwise, waste removal is not included in your quote. You will be asked if you'd like us to remove waste. If so, a minimum charge of £30 will apply, increasing with the volume and type of waste.
5. Pre-existing Defects
We are not responsible for pre-existing issues or defects discovered during our works. Any rectification will be quoted and charged separately.
6. Access Requirements
It is the client’s responsibility to provide safe, clear access. If we attend but cannot gain entry, a £30 + VAT charge applies per missed visit.
7. Site Conditions & Safety
Work may be paused or cancelled if site conditions are unsafe. Delays or recharges may result.
8. Completion Expectations
Although we strive to complete works in one visit, unforeseen circumstances may require additional visits.
9. Emergency Callouts
Emergency callouts are charged at £100 + VAT for the first hour, starting from the time we leave our current location.
Subsequent hours are charged at £65 + VAT.
We cannot guarantee full resolution within one visit, and additional visits may be required.
Materials are charged separately.
10. Hourly Rates
If we agree to carry out works on an hourly rate basis, the following rates apply:
A call-out fee of £65 + VAT is charged, which includes the first hour of labour.
Each additional hour (or part thereof) is charged at £32.50 + VAT.
Materials are charged in addition.
11. Late Cancellations
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice incur a charge of 25% of the quoted amount.
12. Material Warranty & Responsibility
Defects in materials are covered by manufacturer warranties unless caused by our team.
Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.
13. Payments
Invoices are due immediately upon receipt.
Overdue invoices may incur interest at 5% above the Bank of England base rate, applied weekly.
14. Ownership of Goods
All materials remain the property of TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD until full payment is received.
15. Pets and Children
During our attendance, we require unrestricted access and egress to and from your property in order to carry in tools, equipment, and materials, and to carry out waste or debris.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that pets and children are kept safe and secure at all times during our visit.
TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD accepts no responsibility for the containment, security, or supervision of pets or children while we are on site.
You must take the necessary precautions to ensure that our access does not lead to unintended escape or injury of any pets or children on the premises.
16. Snagging & Defect Period
Any snags must be reported within 7 days of job completion.
We will address any workmanship defects reported within 6 months of completion.
17. Utilities & Hidden Services
You must inform us of any concealed services (pipes, wiring, etc.).
We are not liable for damage if such services are not disclosed.
18. Site Cleaning
TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD will always aim to leave your property in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the job.
However, due to the nature of electrical work and the limitations of handheld cleaning equipment (e.g., dustpans, brooms, cordless vacuums), we cannot guarantee the site will be 100% clean upon departure.
Customers are advised to inspect and carry out a final clean, especially in homes with children or pets, to ensure the area is fully safe and free from any small debris such as copper wire offcuts or plaster dust.
We do not accept liability for any minor debris remaining after our reasonable clean-up effort.
19. Liability Limitation
Our liability is capped at the total value of the quoted works. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
20. Agreement to Terms
By instructing TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD, you accept these Terms & Conditions.
These are made available at all times via: www.TJRelectricalservices.co.uk/terms
