Our background

TJR Electrical & Renewables LTD are a specialist solar PV and battery storage contractor based in Sheringham, serving the Norfolk area. We work with local authorities, housing associations, maintenance providers and energy-efficiency schemes to deliver compliant, reliable renewable installations for domestic and light-commercial properties.

Founded in 2019 by director Tom Richardson, the company has grown from a single-person electrical business into a dedicated renewable-energy provider with full MCS and TrustMark accreditation. We have extensive experience working in occupied homes, managing vulnerable tenants, coordinating safe working practices, and completing work to strict procedural and documentation standards.

Our approach has remained the same from day one — high-quality installations, strong communication, and a customer-first mindset, ensuring tenants and stakeholders are kept informed and disruption is minimised.

OUR CAPABILITIES

Solar PV installations (new & retrofit)

PAS2030 and MCS-certified installs suitable for ECO4, SHDF, and local authority energy-efficiency targets.

Battery storage installations

Standalone or integrated systems for energy-shifting, resilience, and futureproofing.

Combined PV + battery systems

High-performance systems designed to maximise onsite generation and tenant benefit.

Surveying & design

Full site surveys, shading analysis, structural considerations, electrical design, and performance modelling.

Tenant-friendly installation approach

We prioritise a respectful, safe and low-disruption experience for every resident. Our engineers maintain clear communication throughout the installation, work tidily, and provide a full handover at completion to ensure tenants understand their new system.

All operatives are DBS-checked and hold graded CSCS cards, supported by additional training in working with vulnerable persons, domestic abuse awareness, and modern slavery awareness. This ensures our team can work confidently and appropriately within sensitive social housing environments.

HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

We maintain robust H&S practices including:

  • In-date DBS for all engineers

  • CSCS cards and trade qualifications

  • Full PPE compliance

  • Detailed RAMS for each property

  • Daily on-site safety forms (digitally recorded)

  • Reporting and documentation procedures
